Lobster Rolls in Maine
Reds and Five Island are both outstanding & worth their drive, although Five Island is seasonal. The Lobster Pound in Lincolnville is another favorite, being a year round full service restaurant. Maine dinner is very good, but they are better for blueberry pancakes than seafood. Of course, Maine is a fairly large state, so you may want to narrow your preferred area.

Fresh lobster prices in New England
I was in Galilee, Rhode Island last week and live lobsters in the 1 to 1 1/4 pound size were selling at a place next door to Champlins for $5.99 per pound. In Ct., my supermarket is selling the same size and nowhere near as fresh, for $9.99/lb. What are they going for in your area?
Big Oak Drive IN
I had a chance to hit the Big Oak Drive In in Salter Path, NC recently.

The Big Oak calls itself "Home of the Best Shrimpburger on North Carolina's Crystal Coast".
I had the shrimp burger and onion rings. The shrimp burger was good, but not as good as El's in Morehead. El's shrimp were bigger (although Big Oak's were plentiful) and it was just a better burger (even after the slaw was added). The big Oak does get the nod for the onion rings. While not homemade they were cooked quite well. Also at the Big Oak you can walk to the beach and eat.
Food advantage El's
Location advantage Big Oak

Fried Whole Belly Clams in Philadelphia
A new place called simply, Oyster House, has opened in the location of the old Sansom Street Oyster House in Center City Philly. I just checked out their menu on menupages and they appear to serve fried whole belly clams. I've only had them a few times in New England, and not recently, so I may not be the best judge of quality, but if they're the real thing, it would be nice to have them so close to home. The menu lists them as Fried Ipswich Clams full bellies.
Fried Clams
I havent had any of these in a long time so I decided to try some the other nite and all I can say is WOW!what have I been missing,They were great!Whats your favorite clam recipie?Do you use flour and cormeal or a commerical bread mixture?Ive got clams right out my backdoor!
Stern's BBQ
OMG Stern's BBQ in Culver City was the ALL TIME BEST BBQ EVER!!! That sauce! I am so surprised that no one has been able to obtain the recipe from the former owners. NOTHING COMPARES with Stern's BBQ sauce. Everything on the menu was great: ribs, brisket, baked beans, and even the pickles. Someone would be able to make a killing if they were able to lay their hands on that recipe.... C'mon, aren't there any enterprising folks out there?
